Primary Purpose

Lead, grow, and manage the Civil Engineering Department in the Atlanta office—combining technical excellence with business development and team leadership to drive firm goals and project success.

Department Leadership & Strategy
  • Establish goals and objectives aligned with the company mission.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all civil engineering department efforts.
  • Ensure departmental progress, project delivery, and quality standards are met on schedule and within budget.
  • Create and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve productivity and QA/QC.
  • Participate in strategic budgeting and resource allocation.
Team Development & Management
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the civil engineering team.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Oversee staffing, training, recruitment, and staff development activities.
  • Guide managers on policy implementation and team alignment with firm values.
Business Development & Client Relations
  • Represent the company in professional, industry, and community settings.
  • Support proposals, contracts, and business growth initiatives.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and long-term relationships.
Project Oversight & Technical Management
  • Review departmental project reports and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure projects are technically sound, compliant, and executed efficiently.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices.
Administrative & Organizational Duties
  • Review and approve timesheets, billing, PTO, and related administrative tasks.
  • Participate in EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) meetings and processes.
  • Mitigate risk, support billing/collections, and collaborate with HR for staffing needs.

  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and team‑building skills.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with deep technical knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to communicate across teams, clients, and community stakeholders.
