Facilities Management Services - Building Services Admin & Sup

Salary: Competitive salary of $31,200 ($15 an hour) with great benefits!

Schedule: Monday – Friday 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Location: Atlanta Campus

The Building Services Department is seeking one Custodian I to join our team in maintaining and improving Georgia State University facilities. The ideal candidate will provide custodial care for university buildings, clean and set‑up rooms, and support a range of duties as needed.

• Sweeps, dust, mops, scrubs, restores, buffs, and waxes floors; vacuums
• Performs other duties needed to maintain the cleanliness of campus floors
• Removes trash, cleans counters, equipment, and furnishings
• Maintains cleanliness of laboratories, office areas, classrooms, and other assigned work areas
• Cleans and restocks restrooms
• Sets up chairs, tables, and other equipment in classrooms, meeting rooms, and other public areas
• Handles emergency clean‑ups and related work as needed
• Must be able to bend, twist, reach overhead, push and pull floor equipment, push and pull large trash barrels, and lift full trash bags weighing 30 pounds
• Must possess a normal degree of dexterity

• High School Diploma or GED

• Must be able to lift approximately 30‑50 lbs and perform heavy lifting when required
• Some knowledge of custodial services practices, techniques, and procedures
• Six months of experience working in an institutional, industrial, or commercial setting preferred
• Must pass a criminal background check
