Facilities Technician

Overview

Facilities Technician at King & Spalding – Atlanta, GA. We are seeking a versatile and proactive Facilities Technician to support the day-to-day operations of our Atlanta office. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in maintaining a safe and functional workspace, and has working knowledge across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and basic electrical work.

• Conduct daily walk-throughs of all office floors to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Perform minor repairs and general upkeep including:
• Replacing light bulbs and ceiling tiles
• Relocating furniture and fixtures
• Unclogging drains and fixing leaks
• Patching and painting walls
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs (e.g., carpet cleaning, appliance servicing), ensuring quality and timely completion.
• Maintain and update checklists for daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance tasks.
• Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with life safety standards.
• Prepare vacant office spaces for new employees, including furniture setup and workspace organization.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and materials; ensure availability of commonly used items.
• Support interoffice moves and act as a liaison between internal teams and service providers.
• Collaborate with building management on janitorial, HVAC, and other facility-related issues.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in facilities, maintenance, or related trades preferred.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and appliance repair.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills; able to document issues and provide clear instructions.
• Comfortable using basic technology (e.g., email, maintenance tracking systems).
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands.
• Physical ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, climbing, kneeling, and prolonged standing.
