The Building Services Department is seeking (1) Custodian I to join the already excellent team taking the Building Services Department to the next level of excellence!

• Clean and maintain Georgia State University facilities, following established routines and procedures.
• Sweeps, dust mops, wet mops, scrubs, strips, restores, buffs, and waxes floors, vacuums.
• Performs other duties needed to maintain the cleanliness of campus floors.
• Removes trash, cleans counters, equipment, and furnishings.
• Performs other duties to maintain the cleanliness of laboratories, office areas, classrooms, and other assigned work areas.
• Cleans and restocks restrooms.
• Set up chairs, tables, and other equipment in classrooms, meeting rooms, and other public areas.
• Handles emergency clean‑ups; performs other related work as needed.
• Must be able to bend, twist, reach overhead, push and pull floor equipment (vacuum cleaner), push and pull large trash barrels, and lift full trash bags weighing 30 pounds.
• Must possess a normal degree of dexterity.
• Employees will use cleaning chemicals daily and will sometimes work around potentially dangerous materials in certain laboratories.

• Six months of experience working in an institutional, industrial, or commercial setting.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must be able to lift approximately 30‑50 lbs.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when required.
• Some knowledge of custodial services practices, techniques, and procedures.
