Overview
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Interim Counsel to support contract development, negotiation, and management activities for managed organizations. With internal support from the Senior Counsel, Risk Management, Benefits & Initiatives, the attorney will work closely with internal business managers to revise, restate, and finalize management contracts using a standardized template agreement. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring contracts accurately reflect services provided, align with organizational goals, and are completed efficiently within a defined timeframe.

Responsibilities- Serve as the primary legal resource for the revision and restatement of existing management contracts.
- Using a template agreement, coordinate with internal business managers to:
- Identify services provided to each managed organization.
- Tailor contract language to accurately reflect those services.
- Support business managers in negotiating revised and restated management contracts that transition from legacy agreements to the standardized template, developing additional contract language where necessary.
- Shepherd each contract restatement through the full lifecycle, from initial review and drafting through negotiation, revision, and final execution.
- Manage multiple contract projects simultaneously, with the expectation that at least eight contracts will be finalized within a three-month period.
- Ensure consistent use of template language while addressing unique operational or legal needs of each managed organization.
- Maintain accurate contract documentation and updates within the contract management system.
- Manage other contract template development, drafting, and negotiation as needed.
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Demonstrated experience in contract development, drafting, and negotiation.
- Strong project management experience, with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both legal and business professionals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey the value of documenting the full scope of services and the expectations and obligations of the parties.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong listening skills and a demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service.
- Must complete training for and use HighQ contract management system.
- Experience working with local governments or associations.
- Ability to quickly understand organizational structures, services, and business objectives.
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach to contract challenges.
- Comfortable working independently while remaining highly collaborative.
- Experience with HighQ contract management system, HighQ Doc Auto strongly preferred.
