You’re three years into Big Law and you’re still the third associate on every case. You draft motions that get rewritten. You attend depositions but never ask questions. Partners promise you’ll "get more responsibility soon" but it never comes.
You should be independently managing business disputes, taking key depositions, arguing dispositive motions, and developing case strategy—not waiting for permission to do the work you’re already capable of handling.
You’re ready to be a first-chair business litigator, not permanent bench support.
A top-tier AmLaw Global 100 firm is strategically expanding its nationally recognized Business Litigation practice in Atlanta to handle surging demand for high stakes commercial disputes, class action defense, and trade secrets litigation.
This isn’t about filling a grunt role. This is about adding litigators who can independently run cases and take ownership from day one.
What You'll Actually Do:
- Independently manage complex business litigation matters with minimal supervision
- Take and defend depositions in high-stakes commercial disputes and class actions
- Draft and argue dispositive motions, including summary judgment and preliminary injunctions
- Lead discovery strategy and execution on sophisticated business cases
- Handle all phases of litigation from intake through trial or resolution
- Develop case strategy and work directly with clients on dispute resolution
- Litigate trade secrets misappropriation, breach of contract, business torts, and class action defense matters
- Get real courtroom experience arguing motions and handling hearings
- Build relationships with sophisticated clients across multiple industries nationwide
What You Bring:
- 3-5 years of litigation experience with a proven track record
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases and lead key aspects of litigation
- Strong deposition, motion practice, and oral advocacy experience
- Experience with discovery management and case strategy development
- Top 10% of class from a nationally recognized law school
- Law review, moot court, or trial team experience
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated approach
- Georgia Bar admission (or eligibility for admission)
What You Get:
- Top of Market Compensation: Competitive AmLaw 100 salary and bonus
- Real Responsibility: Independently manage cases from day one, not just support them
- National Platform: Work with clients across industries and geographies on sophisticated disputes
- Sophisticated Work: Complex commercial cases, class action defense, trade secrets, and high-stakes business litigation
- Trial Opportunities: Cases that actually go to trial, with clear path to first-chair experience
The Catch:
This role requires lawyers who can handle responsibility immediately. You need to be comfortable independently managing cases, taking depositions, arguing motions, and interfacing with clients without extensive supervision. If you're not ready to take ownership from day one, this isn’t the right fit.
But if you’re tired of being underutilized and ready to actually practice business litigation at the highest level, this is your opportunity.
