SummaryThe Senior Associate will play a key role within a Commercial Real Estate practice, leading transactions and advising clients across acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and real estate finance matters. This position is designed for an experienced attorney who is comfortable managing matters independently, serving as a primary client contact, and contributing to the strategic growth of the practice. The role offers meaningful responsibility, client-facing work, and opportunities to mentor junior attorneys while collaborating closely with partners on complex transactions.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Lead and manage commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements.
- Advise landlords and tenants on commercial leasing matters involving office, retail, and industrial properties.
- Represent lenders and borrowers in private real estate financing transactions, including loan documentation and due diligence.
- Review and analyze title, survey, zoning, and land use matters; coordinate closing logistics.
- Serve as the primary client contact on mid-size transactions and support partners on larger, more complex deals.
- Collaborate with associates, paralegals, and support staff to deliver efficient, high-quality legal services.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to junior attorneys and paralegals.
- Participate in business development initiatives and contribute to the continued growth of the practice group.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Active Georgia Bar membership or eligibility for reciprocity.
- 6+ years of commercial real estate experience, including:
- Independently handling purchase and sale transactions
- Drafting and negotiating commercial leases (office, retail, industrial)
- Representing lenders and/or borrowers in secured real estate financing
- Strong working knowledge of title, survey, zoning, and land use issues.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated commitment to client service, relationship development, and teamwork.
- Interest in mentoring junior attorneys and contributing to a collaborative firm culture.
