Responsibilities- Conduct legal research and factual investigation to assist attorneys in case preparation.
- Draft, revise, and finalize legal documents, including motions, briefs, affidavits, and subpoenas.
- Manage and organize case files, including tracking deadlines, and ensuring all necessary documents are obtained and properly filed.
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing trial exhibits, trial binders, and coordinating witness schedules.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other parties in a professional manner.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings and court dates, managing attorney calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in family law and court procedures.
- Train and mentor junior paralegals and other support staff.
- A bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, law, or a related field is required. A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on family law.
- Knowledge of child support guidelines.
- Exceptional knowledge of legal research tools and citation formats.
- Proficiency in drafting and revising legal documents.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of documents and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to continue learning and improving legal skills.
