Office of Legal Affairs
Reporting directly to the Associate General Counsel, this position will provide clear, practical legal counsel on a wide range of business and higher education matters, with primary responsibility for drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts, student matters, employment matters, and advancement/fundraising. In addition, the position will advise on employment law and policy development. Successful candidates will bring strong business judgment and creativity to the Office of Legal Affairs.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Licensed to practice law or able to become licensed in the State of Georgia within one year of employment
* Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements
* Ability to think critically and make clear, well-reasoned and timely decisions
* Strong, pragmatic business acumen with the ability to recognize the broader consequences of legal advice
* Strategic and innovative thinker who can bring value to clients and find creative and practical solutions to complex problems
* Self-motivated and exhibits a passion for understanding the University's business and contributing in a meaningful way to its strategy and long-term strategic goals
* Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and interact effectively with senior leaders and clients at all levels of the organization; ability to identify critical issues requiring action and convey them in a manner that is useful to the client
* Ability to identify opportunities to create and improve systems without direction
* Team player with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of business and legal partners
* Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, high volume office
Minimum Hiring
Qualifications:
JD from an ABA accredited law School and at least one year of relevant experience.
