Associate Attorney - General Liability

Position Overview

Lydecker is seeking an associate attorney with 2+ years of experience. This is a hybrid position located in our Atlanta, GA office. The applicant should be admitted to practice in GA. Under the supervision of a partner, the associate will handle a variety of cases, including defense of premises liability, personal injury, and general liability.

• This position requires a GA bar license in good standing.
• A JD from an ABA-approved law school.
• A minimum of 2 years of civil defense litigation experience, preferably in general liability, bodily injury, premises liability, products liability, or construction defect litigation.
• Experience handling up to 15+ cases simultaneously, attending and defending depositions, taking depositions, appearing in court, arguing motions and drafting discovery; mediation and trial experience is a plus but not required.
• Computer skills: basic knowledge of operating computers, internet software, spreadsheets, and word processing;
  Microsoft products preferred.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and strong client communication skills.
• Oral Communication: speaks clearly and persuasively; listens and clarifies; participates in meetings as required.
• Written Communication: writes clearly and informatively; edits for spelling and grammar; adapts writing style to meet needs; interprets written information.
• Temperament: able to work with little supervision; prioritizes and anticipates needs; handles occasional pressure and short deadlines.
• Ethics: maintains client and firm confidences; adheres to general professional ethical standards.

• Must be willing and able to bill.
• Draft/review and respond to petitions/complaints, motions, and written discovery.
• Attend hearings and meetings with clients when requested.
• Prepare for and attend depositions.
• Assist with preparation for mediations and trials.

• One-on-one mentorship and training by Partners.
• Salary range depending on depth and years of experience.
• Quarterly bonuses based on billable hours.
