Technician 1 – Reports to Project Manager
Primary RoleResponsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic communication systems, with experience in VOIP, SIP, computer and networking systems. The Systems Technician installs and services systems efficiently to ensure minimum downtime and maximum performance, while communicating system performance to the customer.
Responsibilities- Final hookup and programming of electronics equipment for new jobs
- Respond promptly to customer service‑related issues
- Test and document readings for customer systems
- Update customer files
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic components
- Handle on‑call duties on a regular scheduled basis
- Train and instruct customers on proper use of the equipment
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
- Operate test equipment:
Volt Meter, Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multimeter, and Impedance Meter - Assist with preventive maintenance of customer equipment
- Accurately track work on time sheets, service/installation tickets, and inventory items
- Maintain full compliance with company and customer safety program
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by management
Directly accountable to the Project Manager and secondarily to other management team members, employees, and customers.
QualificationsA two‑year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and 1–3 years of related field experience is desirable. Working knowledge of communications systems is required. Experience with VoIP, telephony, data networks, wireless data, fire alarm, CCTV, sound systems, or nurse call applications is preferred. Cisco and Microsoft certifications desirable.
Education Requirements- Minimum:
High‑school diploma. Basic English proficiency, math skills, ability to read CAD‑generated prints, building blueprints, and riser diagrams, solid grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory, PC proficiency, and aptitude in simple engineering and construction. - Preferred:
Associate’s Degree in Electronics, IT, or Computer Programming; NSCA CEST Certification, NICET certification, RCDD, and factory training a plus.
Some out‑of‑town travel may be required.

- Light lifting up to 50 lbs
- Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities
- Work environment usually moderate noise level
- Occasional outside activities subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations
