The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a profitable portfolio on behalf of Aspen Insurance while embodying the company's values in all aspects of their work.

• Manage a team of underwriters
• Contribute to business strategy and planning
• Oversee complex underwriting activities

• Develop and deliver the business plan for the portfolio
• Promote the department, division, and company to maximize brand leverage
• Ensure adherence to underwriting standards, instructions, and good practice within your team
• Record and measure insurance risks accurately
• Continually develop expertise and technical knowledge
• Monitor and coach team members with learning and development
• Act as an escalation point for underwriting decisions of team members

• 8-10 years Environmental Underwriting Experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively
• Proficiency in relevant software within Company and Insurance division
• In-depth experience of working in an underwriting environment within a specialized/complex underwriting area
• Experience in using risk profiling and pricing tools and loss models
