Zurich is currently seeking an AVP to direct and oversee the operations of our Claims General Liability leadership team.
We’re seeking an inspiring and dynamic leader to guide and support a high-performing team of Managers and Claims Professionals within our General Liability Specialty Team. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee claim operations across Captives, Excess & Surplus, and Direct Markets.
This leader will partner with the other AVPs within the line of business to help develop, support and drive key initiatives and strategies. They will also work on National Projects on behalf of the line of business and serve as a subject matter expert to the underwriting team regarding product developments or enhancements to provide support and guidance and ensure compliance with regulatory policies.
The successful candidate will coordinate the work activities of the team and has responsibility for performance, development and coaching of staff to maximize contributions and drive employee development and operational improvements. This position has clear and distinct accountability for business results and manages internal and external customer relationships.

Atlanta, GA;
Omaha, NE, Overland Park, KS;
Gold River, CA, Maitland, FL or Schaumburg, IL.
Basic Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims area
OR - Bachelor’s Degree and 9 or more years of experience in the Claims area
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent and 11 or more years of experience in the Claims area
AND - 3 or more years of management experience
- Customer service experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of insurance legal statutes and procedures
- Travel 25% or more
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in Primary General Liability Claims, Captives, Excess & Surplus, and Direct Markets
- Experience with leading leaders
- Experience with change management tools/methodologies
- Strong Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to build strong relationships and establish rapport
- Successful implementation of process changes
- Negotiation experience
- Experience collaborating across work groups
- In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $ - $, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
