Executive Underwriter - Middle Market

Zurich Middle Markets seeks an experienced P&C Underwriter for the Atlanta office in the South region. The role requires office/marketplace presence 3 days a week and engagement with agents and brokers. You will serve as a customer advocate focused on improving the customer experience by understanding risks and delivering end-to-end Middle Markets P&C insurance solutions.

• You will develop and maintain relationships with brokers, partners and customers across all industries to support business objectives.
• You will leverage P&C underwriting acumen across risk assessment, exposure evaluation and pricing to generate and maintain a profitable book of new and renewal business.
• You will work collaboratively across units including claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, and technical underwriting while gaining knowledge in a growing and innovative industry.
• You will use technical underwriting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to grow and develop relationships with preferred distribution partners in an assigned territory.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years in underwriting or market-facing area, or
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10+ years in claims or underwriting support, or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with 3+ years in underwriting or market-facing area, or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with 8+ years in claims or underwriting support
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience meeting time constraints for quotes on new and renewal business
• Experience working in a team environment

• Bachelor’s degree
• Established relationships with Property & Casualty broker partners
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• CPCU and ARM a plus

At Zurich, compensation is influenced by factors including office location, role, skill set, and experience. We provide a fair and reasonable compensation range and Total Rewards information. The proposed salary range for this position is $98,300.00, with 15% short-term incentive bonus eligibility. Zurich North America is an equal opportunity employer.
