Role OverviewWe are seeking an EDI Administrator to manage and optimize electronic data interchange integrations across internal systems and external trading partners. This role plays a critical part in ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient data exchange—supporting operational accuracy, reducing processing overhead, and enabling scalable digital business processes.
Key Responsibilities Core EDI Operations- Design, implement, monitor, and maintain EDI integrations between internal systems and trading partners
- Provide technical guidance and issue resolution for EDI-related inquiries
- Develop, maintain, and optimize EDI translation maps, business process models, and partner configurations
- Deliver second-level EDI support for IT teams and business units
- Ensure data accuracy, system reliability, and compliance with EDI X12 standards
- Manage and archive EDI-related files and support SQL database structures
- Configure and maintain UNIX scripts and Java brokers for automation and file movement
- Monitor EDI environments for errors or performance risks and proactively resolve issues
- Support and troubleshoot EDI communication protocols and network connectivity
- Lead onboarding of new trading partners, including custom or non-standard implementations
- Configure and maintain EDI interfaces across subsidiaries or business units
- Collaborate with external partners to resolve connectivity or data transmission issues
- Manage and resolve escalated tickets from support teams or trading partners
- Maintain detailed documentation for EDI processes, configurations, and procedures
- Provide backup coverage for EDI team functions when needed
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with remote support capabilities
- Contribute to cross-functional IT initiatives and special projects
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of hands‑on EDI mapping and translation experience
- 2+ years working with X12 standards
- Experience supporting EDI in enterprise-level production environments
- Strong proficiency in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments
- Experience with UNIX shell scripting
- Working knowledge of SQL databases and query writing
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking and EDI communication protocols
- Ability to interpret and apply technical documentation to real-world scenarios
