Georgia Tech Research Institute's (GTRI) Research Security is seeking a Cybersecurity Student Assistant for Spring 2026. As a Student Assistant, your roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist ISSMs and ISSOs in operations to protect accredited information systems
• Develop technical solutions to enhance security of networks
• Provide assistance to validate implementation of cybersecurity controls
• Assist with documenting system security plans
• Participate in self-inspection, assessment, and authorization activities
• Provide support for Security Information Management System (SIMS)
• Assist with monitoring classified meetings, conferences, and courses
• Other duties assigned

Student Assistant/Research Assistant

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical engineering, computer engineering, Cybersecurity or related Major
• Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
• 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA

• Knowledge or experience with Cybersecurity applications
• Understanding of Risk Management Framework
• Understanding of configuration management processes or tools
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas

10-20 hours per week

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.

Housing and relocation assistance are not available for this position.
