Principal Data Architect

Job Summary

• Seeking a strategic and experienced Principal Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, compliant data systems across a cloud-based infrastructure

• Responsible for building enterprise-wide data architecture and infrastructure from the ground up, working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders

• Ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with hands-on experience in Azure environments, cloud platforms, and data engineering in Greenfield implementations

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable data management solutions in response to evolving business needs

• Collaborate across technical teams and customer groups to accelerate product delivery

• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable data architecture

• Lead the development of best practices for data quality, architecture standards, and engineering

• Partner with product management and external stakeholders across the development lifecycle

• Provide technical guidance and leadership on emerging trends and data strategies

• Identify opportunities and guide technical teams through the sales-to-implementation process

• Serve as a subject matter expert across the organization and technical community

• Build Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate architecture strategies and tool selection

• Oversee data transformation, ingestion, and integration activities, including ERP systems

• Manage and optimize cloud-based data platforms and analytic environments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Solutions Architect, with hands-on development experience

• Minimum of 5 years of cloud experience with Azure (required); experience with AWS or Google Cloud is a plus

• Strong experience designing large-scale cloud environments and data platforms

• Proven background in Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks

• Strong technical build-out experience in Greenfield implementations

• Solid experience with data warehousing, ETL, data repositories, and analytics

• Experience with data integration involving ERP systems (SAP preferred)

• Platform engineering and cloud-based data architecture expertise

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sales support and client-facing solution design

• Knowledge of emerging cloud and data management technologies

Certifications

• Azure certifications preferred
