Title

Senior Scrum Master / Agile Project Manager — Data Program

Overview

We are seeking a senior-level Scrum Master / Agile Project Manager to lead delivery for a complex, enterprise data program. This role combines hands-on Scrum leadership with project management accountability, executive reporting, and program-level coordination across multiple teams.

The ideal candidate is a proactive delivery leader who can drive progress, manage risks, ensure alignment with leadership priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly visible environment.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Ownership & Reporting

  • Provide clear, concise status updates for executive and leadership audiences
  • Track and report on milestones, progress, risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Ensure alignment across teams on delivery goals and timelines
  • Maintain accountability for scope, schedule, cost, and quality

Risk, Issue & Blocker Management

  • Own project-level risks and issues from identification through resolution
  • Escalate concerns proactively to leadership when needed
  • Remove impediments to keep delivery on track

Agile / Scrum Leadership

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies:
    • Sprint Planning
    • Daily Standups
    • Sprint Reviews
    • Retrospectives
    • Backlog refinement sessions
  • Ensure team focus, productivity, and adherence to Agile practices
  • Maintain accurate story status and sprint progress

Program & Backlog Coordination

  • Support Product Owners in backlog prioritization and readiness
  • Coordinate Program Increment (PI) planning activities and demos
  • Ensure teams are prepared to present plans and outcomes effectively
  • Manage story lifecycle in alignment with PMO standards

Jira & Project Controls

  • Design and manage Jira boards, workflows, and reporting dashboards
  • Maintain project plans and milestone tracking
  • Produce status reports and documentation
  • Support time tracking and governance requirements
  • Establish effective communication plans with stakeholders

Stakeholder & Leadership Engagement

  • Act as liaison between leadership and delivery teams
  • Communicate priorities, constraints, and decisions clearly
  • Drive cross-team coordination and alignment
  • Support change management throughout the project lifecycle

Agile Governance & Standards

  • Provide guidance on Agile frameworks and Jira standards
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements
  • Promote consistent practices across multiple teams
Technical & Domain Context

Experience supporting data-focused programs is strongly preferred, including exposure to:

  • Data governance initiatives
  • Enterprise data platforms
  • Data warehouse modernization
  • Analytics or reporting systems

Technologies such as Teradata and Databricks are a plus.

Required Qualifications
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Proven experience leading Agile delivery for enterprise projects
  • Strong Jira expertise (configuration, reporting, dashboards)
  • Excellent executive-level communication skills
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience managing risks, dependencies, and cross-team coordination
  • Proficiency with Visio, Excel, Word, and project documentation tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data programs or data platforms
  • Exposure to Teradata, Databricks, or modern data architectures
  • SAFe or scaled Agile experience
  • Background in data governance initiatives
