SQL DBA (Infrastructure Focused) (Job )
Our client is seeking an Infrastructure‑Focused (Techno‑Functional) SQL DBA Expert to join their Database Infrastructure and Cloud Operations team, which supports 400+ enterprise databases across manufacturing plants and core business systems. The team operates on‑premises data centers and plant sites, as well as AWS RDS. Primary platform is Microsoft SQL Server (70 %);
Postgre
SQL and MySQL comprise the remaining 30 %. The role is 60 % hands‑on infrastructure DBA execution—including administration, patching, vulnerability management, compliance, monitoring, and governance—and 40 % leadership on complex initiatives and escalation.
- 10+ years of enterprise database administration with deep MS SQL Server infrastructure expertise.
- Expert macro‑level administration on on‑premises and AWS RDS environments, including patching, vulnerability management, compliance, monitoring, governance, and automated deployment using Cloud Formation.
- Experience with Postgre
SQL and MySQL used by plant‑floor and enterprise applications. - Extensive database patching, vulnerability management, and compliance expertise (e.g., SOX, CMMC).
- Deep knowledge of Redgate monitoring and governance for performance, availability, and operational risk.
- Strong infrastructure knowledge:
Windows Server, virtualization, networking, firewalls, DNS.
- Prior Aerospace / Manufacturing experience.
- Serve as the primary expert POC for MS SQL Server (70 %) and Postgre
SQL/MySQL (30 %) across on‑premises, plant sites, and AWS RDS/EC2 environments, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance. - Lead patching, vulnerability management, and compliance activities to meet enterprise security standards, regulatory requirements (SOX, CMMC), and vendor recommendations.
- Monitor database health and operational risk using Redgate and other tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Troubleshoot complex database problems across infrastructure and applications, leveraging Windows Server, virtualization, networking, and cloud knowledge.
- Collaborate with solution architects, security teams, application owners, and partners to align operations with enterprise standards and modernize initiatives.
- Participate as a focal expert on forward‑looking discussions, guiding strategy and leading projects such as data‑center exit migrations and cloud adoption.
- Provide governance and oversight for the shared database ecosystem, maintaining consistent processes and best practices.
