Responsible for the installation and maintenance of client‑centralized Cisco‑oriented local and wide area networks. Also responsible for administering the Microsoft TEAMS Phone environment, which includes configuring and installing physical phones and coordinating business‑area requirements. Provides guidance to less experienced staff and delegates tasks to accomplish projects and goals. Researches network vendor products to determine the best fit for client needs; assists in presentation to management resulting in purchase and installation of hardware and software.
Maintains contingency plans, coordinates testing, performs performance and capacity monitoring and tuning. Ensures security procedures are implemented and enforced. Maintains policies, procedures, and standards. Participates in strategic planning and district‑wide work groups.
- Installs or oversees the installation and maintenance of Cisco hardware and software; develops detailed work plans for installation and ongoing maintenance; guides and directs a team of technicians in network monitoring, operations, installations, and maintenance of LAN/WAN networks.
- Supports Microsoft TEAMS Phone for the district by configuring and installing physical phones and coordinating with central IT for business‑area requirements.
- Consults with district end users on LAN/WAN computing needs; assists users in problem analysis, provides technical support, troubleshoots and resolves end‑user problems reported to the Corporate Help Desk; analyzes and evaluates systems—including hardware and software—to meet user needs; provides consultation to other departmental technical staff.
- Shows proven experience and understanding of networking concepts including OSI layers, network protocols.
- Manages projects for implementation of new LAN/WAN systems; acts as project leader on district‑wide automation projects; prepares and reviews documentation, coordinates support activities, assigns work, sets deadlines, and monitors progress; participates in system projects dealing with LAN/WAN systems.
- Analyzes network performance data output for capacity‑planning purposes.
- Directs vendor activities and serves as primary contact for other support activities.
- Develops and maintains system documentation, operations procedures, contingency plans, and enterprise‑wide standards and guidelines; assists with development of the district's automation strategic plan.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years equivalent experience (preferred).
Experience: Five to Eight years.
Knowledge/
Experience:
IT Network.
Certifications/Licenses: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

- Experience with server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), DHCP, DNS configuration and related services.
- Ability to use monitoring tools to track network health, analyze traffic patterns, and optimize performance.
- Capability to maintain accurate network documentation, clearly explain technical concepts, and communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Monitor network performance and availability.

- Respond to automated alerts and system warnings.
- Ensure network uptime and reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues.
- Support end‑users with network‑related problems.
- Perform root‑cause analysis for recurring issues.

- Update network diagrams and configuration documentation.
