Technology Trainer.
The Technology Trainer will play a crucial role in ensuring that all firm personnel are proficient and confident in using the firm's technology platforms and applications. This position focuses on delivering comprehensive training programs for both newly hired employees and existing lawyers and staff, with particular emphasis on the professional development of legal staff. The trainer will work closely with end-users to provide personalized coaching and support, helping them maximize their productivity through effective use of technology.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the firm's operational efficiency by empowering users to leverage technology effectively in their daily work. You'll collaborate with departments including Human Resources and IT leadership to identify training needs, develop learning action plans, and continuously improve the user experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about adult education, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives in a fast-paced legal environment where attention to detail and client service excellence are paramount.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver in-person, remote, and one-on-one training sessions to attorneys and staff on firm-standard software and hardware
- Coordinate and schedule follow-up training sessions to reinforce learning and address ongoing needs
- Provide ongoing floor support and performance coaching to end users as needed
- Conduct new hire training and technical orientation sessions
- Develop and deliver regular workshops and training classes on technical applications, processes, and best practices
- Promote technology best practices and coach users on how to utilize firm standards effectively
- Coordinate with Human Resources to assess staff technical capabilities and develop learning action plans
- Collaborate on the design, development, and review of curriculum and training documentation for applications and software upgrades
- Assist the Training Manager with planning and development of specialized training programs
- Create training videos and eLearning content for the firm's learning management system
- Maintain class schedules, track attendance, and compile feedback in the learning management system
- Respond to special training requests and coordinate responses to emerging needs
- Recommend improvements to enhance service quality and user experience
- Provide input on the design and configuration of firm applications with emphasis on user experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Previous law firm experience is highly preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Windows 11 operating system
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task effectively
- Client service focus with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and good judgment
- Flexibility to work over 40 hours per week when needed and travel occasionally
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assume new responsibilities as department needs evolve
- Experience developing eLearning content
- Knowledge of Tech Smith Camtasia or similar video creation software
- Experience with legal applications such as Net Documents, Litera, and Intapp
- Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment
- Familiarity with learning management systems
Bachelor's Degree Or Equivalent Experience Preferred
