This role provides hands-on technical leadership for medium to large technology initiatives, combining solution design, architecture alignment, and active development. The Hands-On Technical Project Lead is accountable for designing, building, and guiding delivery of multi-layered solutions across applications, integration, data, and infrastructure domains, including AI/ML-enabled capabilities and intelligent automation.

You will work closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, business stakeholders, and Senior Developers, while remaining deeply involved in coding, design decisions, and complex implementations. This role plays a critical part in cloud migration, API enablement, integration modernization, AI-driven insights, and enterprise transformation initiatives, ensuring solutions adhere to enterprise standards and industry best practices.

• Provide hands-on technical leadership by understanding, adopting, and implementing enterprise IT standards and architecture direction.
• Define and drive solution architecture, technical approaches, and design patterns for new and existing initiatives, incorporating AI/ML capabilities where appropriate.
• Lead development of complex, high-risk, or performance-critical components and workflows.
• Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives such as cloud migration, API strategy, FOSS adoption, integration modernization, and AI-enabled intelligent automation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and design, build, and validate proof of concepts (POCs) through hands-on implementation, including AI/ML prototypes.
• Apply modern integration patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven) and cloud-native principles.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, AI-enabled insights, security, regulatory, and Financial Services requirements.
• Create and maintain solution diagrams, data flows, sequence diagrams, and technical documentation, incorporating AI/ML workflow considerations.
• Review code, enforce engineering standards, and mentor developers on best practices, including AI/ML integration patterns.
• Offer technical support during all stages, including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and ensuring production readiness of AI/ML-enabled components.
• Present technical designs, progress, risks, and recommendations to architecture and governance review boards.
• Collaborate with project managers and product owners to manage scope, dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines.
• Ensure platforms and systems remain current to minimize technical debt and obsolescence, including AI/ML infrastructure and pipelines.

• 12+ years of comprehensive IT experience, including hands-on development and integration.
• 8+ years in a technical lead, lead developer, or solution lead role with direct coding responsibility.
• Strong experience in application development, APIs, middleware, enterprise integration, and AI/ML-enabled solutions.
• Solid understanding of Financial Services industry systems, security, and regulatory controls.
• Working experience with JIRA, Visio, Microsoft Excel, and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with API design and development, microservices, and integration platforms and tools such as IBM Integration Bus, Boomi, Mule Soft, Kong, Web Sphere MQ/ESB, Apache Kafka, AWS API Gateway, and Azure API Management.
• Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, or equivalent enterprise languages.
• Solid understanding of data formats (JSON, XML, CSV, YAML, EDI) and databases (DB2, Oracle).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, event-driven architecture, messaging technologies, and AI/ML platform integration.
• Knowledge of AI/ML technologies, process optimization, cost efficiency, and IT risk management principles.
