Systems Engineer, Cloud Computing, IT Project Manager
ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Engineering function is responsible for all engineering activities within the firm to ensure that business objectives are met, including the design, development, and improvement of products, platforms, services, standards, and procedures across engineering disciplines. The Program Management area leads teams, typically cross‑functional and technical, to achieve project and program goals. This role partners with engineering and technical stakeholders to plan, execute, monitor, and control initiatives, managing scope, resources, timelines, quality, risks, dependencies, and other constraints.
The Program Management focus specializes in the delivery of significant technical initiatives such as infrastructure and cloud modernization, SaaS/platform enablement, systems and network engineering improvements, database and data‑platform initiatives, automation, and operational maturity. This job family operates independently at the professional level, may provide work direction and technical leadership, and is differentiated by scope, complexity, technical depth, problem‑solving, and collaboration.
The Technical Program Manager is responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex technical programs with a primary focus on infrastructure, cloud and SaaS platforms, systems and network engineering, database services, and operational reliability. The role coordinates work across infrastructure and application stakeholders to ensure environments, platform capabilities, and operational processes are delivered predictably and meet service expectations.
Key responsibilities include building and managing integrated program plans; aligning roadmaps and dependencies across teams; and improving how infrastructure and platform work is planned, delivered, measured, and supported. While informed by security and compliance requirements, this role is not accountable for hands‑on security engineering and instead ensures requirements are planned and integrated into delivery and operational practices.
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of cross‑functional technical programs across cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, systems and network engineering, and database services.
- Own and maintain program‑level roadmaps, ensuring priorities and dependencies are aligned across infrastructure, platform, and operations teams.
- Drive platform and environment readiness work (e.g., buildouts, upgrades, migrations) so engineering teams have reliable, scalable foundations to run on.
- Coordinate cloud enablement and modernization efforts, including landing zones, connectivity, identity integrations, and standard platform patterns.
- Partner with systems, network, and database teams to improve reliability, performance, capacity, and recoverability across critical services.
- Establish and maintain integrated program plans, milestones, and dependency maps across multiple technical teams and vendors.
- Proactively manage risks, constraints, and tradeoffs (scope, timelines, cost, and operational impact) and drive decisions to keep work moving.
- Improve operational execution by driving automation and standardization efforts (e.g., infrastructure‑as‑code adoption, repeatable build/run practices, reduced manual work).
- Support incident and problem management follow‑ups by driving root‑cause action plans, tracking remediation, and ensuring closure.
- Prepare clear executive‑level updates that surface delivery progress, risks, operational impact, and decisions needed.
- Facilitate alignment between infrastructure/platform teams and application teams so dependencies are understood and delivery is coordinated—without owning application code deployments.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure and cloud concepts (compute, storage, networking, identity, and SaaS integrations).
- Experience coordinating systems engineering, network engineering, and database initiatives (including SQL‑based platforms).
- Familiarity with operational practices such as monitoring/observability, capacity planning, change management, and service reliability.
- Comfort working with automation and standardization approaches (scripting, configuration…
