Position Summary

The Data Product Manager is a Translator and a Visionary. You will speak data tech specs as fluently as you do business value creation. You will use this acumen to anticipate analytical needs that will make a difference to the business and then bring solutions to these needs to life.

We have a simple business and a management team that is hungry for quality insights from our data. Furthermore, we have an emergent next generation Palantir data platform in progress and need your help to finish bringing this to life. Your work will be highly valued, and the results quickly become tangible.

However, this role is not easy – the data is messy, and the standard for insight quality is high. Sometimes the solutions will lie in changes to the data, sometimes in changes to business processes, sometimes both – and we’ll need your dynamism and agility to determine the optimal path.

Key Responsibilities

Product Management

  • Understand what makes our business win, and collaborate with sales, finance, and operations stakeholders to design new data products (dashboards, standard reports, data marts) that support M&A integration and ongoing performance management
  • Understand what could be, and leverage AI capabilities in our platform to bring these to light
  • Understand what slows us down, and ensure automation is at the heart of that which you build
  • Understand what can go wrong, and establish monitoring, data quality checks, and documentation standards (including data dictionaries, lineage diagrams, and runbooks) for all pipelines and models

Stakeholder Management

  • Work with leadership and stakeholders to develop change management plans that ensure smooth transitions for employees, customers, and partners.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to onboard teams for new systems and processes.

Data Management

  • Engage newly acquired businesses to inventory existing business systems (e.g., job management, CRM, ERP, payroll, financials) and document data structures, and map this data and reports into the standardized reporting environment
  • Facilitate data ingestion, developing mapping and ontologies consistent with enterprise architecture
  • Ensure data workflows function appropriately and troubleshoot accordingly
  • Use Pandas and related frameworks to perform data cleaning, validation, and transformation for complex one-off or onboarding scenarios.
  • Implement and enforce version control best practices…
