Overview
Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a client to find an experienced Security Operations Specialist for an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity in Atlanta, GA. This role is a perfect fit for individuals who are passionate about information security and want to be part of a dynamic and impactful team. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in a variety of security operations tasks and collaborate closely with various technical teams.
Responsibilities- Security Operations & Incident Response:
Serve as the onsite point of contact for initial incident response, triage, and coordination with our contracted SOC. Investigate alerts, gather initial context, and shepherd incidents through containment and handoff when needed. - Cross-Team
Collaboration:
Partner with infrastructure and support teams to help shape security policies, processes, and daily operational practices. Work closely with development teams to support the adoption of OWASP guidance, secure coding patterns, and Dev Sec Ops best practices. - Vulnerability &
Risk Management:
Assist with end-to-end vulnerability management, including remediation planning and follow-up with system owners. Support basic risk assessments, risk documentation, and tracking mitigation activities. - Governance, Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain and improve internal security documentation, standards, operational runbooks, and response procedures. Participate in audits, assessments, and compliance-related projects as needed (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, customer assessments). - General Security Partnership:
Act as a practical, approachable security advocate across IT and engineering. Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal security maturity, tooling, and processes.
- Experience supporting security operations, IT operations, or incident response activities.
- Familiarity with core security concepts: endpoint security, identity & access management, logging/monitoring, patch/vulnerability management.
- Understanding of OWASP Top 10, secure development concepts, and common application security risks (even if not deeply specialized).
- Ability to collaborate across technical teams and communicate security guidance constructively.
- Strong documentation habits and process-oriented thinking.
- Prior exposure to cloud security tooling or CSPM platforms.
- Experience participating in audits or compliance initiatives.
- Scripting or automation experience (Power Shell, Python, etc.).
- Security certifications (e.g., Security+, CYSA+, GSEC) are welcome but not required.
Monday to Friday, during first shift hours.
BenefitsThis position offers competitive pay ranging from $30 to $38 per hour.
Additional DetailsLocated onsite in Atlanta, GA, this position is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a 90-day conversion period. Candidates must be able to work onsite as part of a collaborative, hands-on team.
