Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership & Oversight
  • Serve as the technical SME for compute, storage, virtualization, and operating systems across both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Lead and mentor the systems support team responsible for 24x7 operations.
  • Provide hands-on support and escalation for complex infrastructure incidents and requests.
  • Drive continuous improvement in system performance, resiliency, and manageability.
  • Compute, Virtualization & Storage
  • Architect, manage, and support VMware and Hyper-V environments.
  • Administer and optimize enterprise storage platforms and protocols (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, etc.).
  • Manage and monitor capacity, performance, and reliability of virtual and physical server environments.
  • Security, Patching & Compliance
  • Analyze vulnerability scan results, prioritize remediation efforts, and coordinate patch deployment timelines.
  • Partner with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure timely resolution of Windows-related vulnerabilities.
  • Develop remediation plans and standard operating procedures to improve patch hygiene and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot complex Windows patching and configuration issues in enterprise environments.
  • Generate and present vulnerability status reports to IT leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement and automation initiatives in vulnerability management
  • Lead vulnerability remediation and patch management across all systems.
  • Manage access controls and system hardening in alignment with organizational security policies.
  • Coordinate with security teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery
  • Coordinate and manage backup and recovery operations using solutions like Comm Vault or Rubrik.
  • Lead the planning and execution of disaster recovery (DR) strategies and tests to ensure business continuity.
  • Monitoring & Optimization
  • Own system performance monitoring and optimization across the server and storage estate.
  • Leverage monitoring tools to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues.
  • Automation & Integration
  • Oversee system integration and automation efforts using Power Shell, Python, Ansible, and Java.
  • Drive the adoption of infrastructure-as-code and repeatable processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with application, network, security, and cloud teams to ensure seamless infrastructure support.
  • Serve as the liaison for system-related requirements and coordinate with vendors and partners.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering and administration.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing or mentoring a technical operations or infrastructure team.
  • Deep expertise in Windows and Linux operating systems, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and enterprise storage systems.
  • Strong experience in vulnerability management, patching strategies, and compliance standards.
  • Fluent in the English language (written and verbal) with excellent communication skills.
  • Proven experience managing and optimizing backup (Comm Vault or Rubrik) and disaster recovery environments.
  • Expertise in monitoring, scripting, and automation tools (Power Shell, P ython, Ansible, Java).
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT operations, including change, incident, and configuration management processes (ITIL preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSE, Red Hat, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent).
  • Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
  • Experience with configuration management tools and infrastructure-as-code practices.
