IT ERP Busi Analyst 1 (Payroll Shared Services)
The State Accounting Office (SAO) provides accounting and financial reporting expertise for the State and is statutorily responsible for statewide financial reporting. The SAO also provides enterprise oversight and management of the State’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, accounting policy development, financial business process improvement recommendations, and management of the payroll and accounting shared service centers.
The IT ERP Business Analyst 1 (ITP
180) provides entry-level professional business analysis support within the Payroll Shared Services unit at the State Accounting Office, supporting centralized payroll processing for approximately 28 state agencies using Team Works and participating in the implementation and go‑live of GA position focuses on gathering and documenting business requirements, analyzing payroll processes, resolving functional issues, and supporting testing and transition activities in a high‑volume, deadline‑driven environment.
Candidates interested in employment with the SAO must:
· Successfully pass a background check, including, criminal background/records check, employment and education verification, employment reference checks, credit evaluation and professional license checks, where applicable
· Upon, and throughout, employment, both reside and work in the State of Georgia; and

Pay Grade: L
Salary Range: $50,982.94 - $66,351.55
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree and three (3) years of related experience; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level IT Business Analyst 2 (ITP
061) or position equivalent.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports day‑to‑day payroll operations in Team Works by researching and resolving functional tickets, data discrepancies, and calculation issues for assigned agencies
- Assists in documenting current‑state payroll processes for Payroll Shared Services agencies, including earnings, deductions, time and labor, benefits, taxes, and off‑cycle processing
- Participates in requirements gathering for GA@Work payroll and related HCM/time functions, documenting business needs, use cases, and process flows under guidance of senior staff
- Executes test cases and scripts for configuration changes, payroll cycles, integrations, reports, and documents results and defects for system, integration, and user acceptance testing
- Assists with payroll validation and reconciliation activities, including gross‑to‑net checks, tax and retirement with holdings, and other statutory and policy‑driven calculations
- Helps prepare and maintain standard operating procedures, job aids, knowledge articles, and training materials for payroll shared services and agency users
- Provides first-line functional support to agency payroll personnel, including responding to inquiries, explaining system behavior, and escalating complex issues as appropriate
- Supports GA@Work implementation tasks such as data validation, parallel payroll testing, cutover checklists, and post–go‑live stabilization activities as assigned

- Ability to organize work, manage multiple tasks against strict payroll deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities during the GA@Work implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
