Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer

Skills/Knowledge Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in a Cloud Engineer role preferred.
• As the Company is a partner with the United States government, this position may require access to sensitive government information. Accordingly, candidates must be a US Citizen capable of passing an SF-85 background check and obtaining public trust clearance if required.
• Knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating system.
• Experience with one or more configuration management tools, preferably Ansible.
• Advanced database management skills.
• Strong understanding of 3-tier application infrastructure, DNS, and basic networking topics.
• Solid ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the AWS and/or Azure stack including security best practices.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and redundancy, high-availability, and performance optimizations.
• Scripting experience in BASH along with either Python or Ruby.
• Experience with provisioning tools, preferably Terraform.
• Experience with VCS tools such as Git or TFS.
• Experience with systems monitoring and application monitoring solutions such as Datadog and New Relic.
• Understanding of what “Platform as Code” and “Configuration as Code” means and how to apply it.
• Understanding of ITIL framework and all related procedures such as incident management, change management, RCA.
• Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.

• Experience working with Software Engineering teams.
• Experience building automated release pipelines using CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Experience with application containerization.
• Experience with Kubernetes.

The Senior Cloud Engineer reports to the Director of Technology and calls for someone who has the necessary hard and soft skills required to overcome the traditional barriers between software development, testing and operations teams. This will involve providing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery solutions which align with established System Development Life Cycles as well as administering and deploying tools to support these functions.

$__140,000______ to $__145,000________ per year annual salary.
