Sr. SQL Server Database Administrator (Hybrid)

• 100% DBA is preferred. (They rise to the top of the list) 2nd option: 60% developer, 40% DBA. Architects and Project Leads will not be considered.
• Technical interviews will be thorough and scenario based. (Ex. downtimes, outages, back-ups, etc.). Examples will be asked from past work experience.
• This position is Hybrid (Remote and Onsite). The candidate first day is onsite and onsite on demand basis. Preference will be given to candidates local to Atlanta Metro area/State of Georgia. Indicate if candidate has full time residency within the Atlanta Metro area, within the State of Georgia, or if the candidate resides outside of the State Of Georgia.
• Preference will be given for candidates who are s, Permanent Residence Card (aka ) or have Employment Authorization Document (EAD). Indicate if candidate citizenship or visa status is a , Permanent Residence card, H1B, or other.
• This Position is in Atlanta GA Your consultant is required to travel to Atlanta for their first day for onboarding.

• Manage all aspects of physical database administration including schema management; security, setup, installations, upgrades, patches, backup and recovery, space management, performance tuning and capacity planning for SQL Server.
• Support application teams and their projects to enhance, troubleshoot and performance tune
• Support SQL Server databases in Production, Test and Development environments and within Microsoft SharePoint farm
• Install, upgrade, configure ALWAYS ON, test and deploy complex database software
• Develop and implement database recovery plans and procedures
• Analyze the performance of databases and recommends tuning and application changes
• Implement user authentication and validate databases security protocols across systems
• Reviews system design and develop new database systems as needed
• Modifying database structure or deploying schema changes as a result of new requirements
• Scripting batch data loads and operational job automation
• Working Knowledge of Cohesity Backup Appliance.
• Working Knowledge of Cloud Technology and governance.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Seven years of experience in support of an operating system, database management system or a related field

• Hands on administrative experience with SQL Server RDBMS – 6 years
• Hands on experience in managing backup, recovery and high availability scenarios – 6 years
• Hands on development and tuning of databases in SQL Server with Performance Tuning – 6 years
• Hands on experience in Microsoft Operating Systems and SQL Server clustered environments required. and Optimization and TSQL programming – 6 years
• Hands on query experience with SQL and scripting skills – 6 years
• Strong knowledge and experience on Always ON High Availability groups – 4 years
• Strong Knowledge and Experience on Migrations – 4 years
• SQL Server database space management/storage design and capacity planning according to best practices – 3 years
• Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and management – 4 years
• Demonstrate ability to generate entity relationship diagrams, create database documentation, data dictionaries and document system architecture – 3 years
