Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) invites you to join our team as a Data Analyst (Professional). This role focuses on data analysis, model development, and stakeholder collaboration to support decision-making processes.
Job SummaryData Analysts analyze data, interpret trends and patterns, and provide insights to support decision-making processes. They develop data models, perform data mining and statistical analysis, and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize data-driven strategies.
Responsibilities- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to extract insights, trends, and patterns that inform business decisions.
- Develop and maintain data models, queries, and reports using SQL, Python, R, or data analysis tools to perform data cleansing, transformation, and visualization tasks.
- Identify data quality issues, anomalies, and discrepancies; conduct data validation, profiling, and integrity checks.
- Create data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical reports to communicate findings and key metrics to stakeholders.
- Conduct ad-hoc, exploratory, and statistical analysis to support decision-making, performance monitoring, and data-driven insights.
- Perform data mining, predictive analytics, and machine learning tasks to uncover hidden patterns and forecast outcomes.
- Utilize analytics tools, BI platforms, and statistical software efficiently and accurately.
- Stay current on analytics trends, tools, and methodologies through training and certifications.
- Collaborate with business users, data scientists, and IT teams to define requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Associate's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required ExperienceNo prior relevant work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications- Preferred Certifications, Licenses, or Permits:
Student Success Analytics, SAS, Excel, or other data-related skills. - Knowledge of college student development theory and application within a university or government agency environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
- Proficient in Excel, Tableau, Qualtrics, SPSS, Pyramid, Power BI, etc.
- Familiarity with applicable Institute, state, and federal laws regarding data storage, preservation, and security; knowledge of human subject data protection and ethical standards.
- Working knowledge of statistical software and predictive analytics.
