Our client in the financial Services industry is looking for a Security Engineer to support and advance security controls across applications, data, and cloud services in a Microsoft-based enterprise environment. This role requires 2-3 days onsite in Atlanta per week.
Responsibilities- Provide direct application security support by identifying weaknesses, assessing risk, and collaborating with teams to implement effective fixes.
- Conduct vulnerability discovery and analysis using scanning and assessment platforms, translating findings into actionable remediation plans.
- Own certificate and key management activities, including internal and external certificate life cycles, documentation of security requirements, and coordination with trusted certificate authorities.
- Investigate and respond to security events surfaced through Microsoft security tooling, ensuring alerts are reviewed, prioritized, and resolved appropriately.
- Configure and maintain data protection controls to prevent unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information across cloud workloads, endpoints, and productivity tools.
- Work within established incident and ticketing processes to ensure security issues are logged, tracked, and remediated in a timely manner.
- Contribute to enterprise-wide security standards, processes, and long‑term improvement initiatives within a large user environment.
- Background in application security or vulnerability management within an enterprise setting.
- Hands‑on experience using vulnerability scanning and assessment tools.
- Experience managing PKI and certificate‑related processes across internal systems and external providers.
- Exposure to third‑party or supply‑chain security risk assessment tools.
- Comfort working with security workflows, ticketing systems, and cross‑team remediation efforts.
- Experience supporting security operations in organizations with 1,000+ users.
- Ability to assess risk, prioritize findings, and drive practical remediation.
- Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Microsoft security and compliance tooling (including data protection and threat monitoring)
- Vulnerability management and application security platforms
