• Lead and manage a team of IT consultants/staff, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
• Monitor and analyze the performance of the IT team, ensuring that all coding practices and end products are up to standard.
• Develop and implement best practices to ensure our IT enterprise applications are supportable and maintainable.
• Work with architects to ensure software design is properly implemented.
• Evaluate and recommend software solutions to improve the quality of GDOT’s IT enterprise applications.
• Work with project managers on management and implementation of development during the entire project life cycle.
• Coordinate and troubleshoot technical issues and guide the IT team in resolving complex technical problems.
• Interview candidates and hire qualified individuals to fill open roles within the department.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports requested by both internal and external clients and GDOT IT Management.
• Develop and mentor staff to a high level of competency.
• Handle issues of a highly technical nature.
• Monitor staff performance and schedule adherence to improve efficiencies, identify training opportunities, and ensure proper coverage.
• Remain current on internal procedures and external client requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Information Technology or a related field.
• Technical certifications preferred.
• Five (5+) years of experience in an IT management role, IT technical lead role, or project management role.

• 5+ years of experience supervising or leading a support team.
• Experience in custom applications or customization in commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products.
• Developed applications in .NET technologies with Kendo UI Telerik, C#.NET, Web API, REST API, JSON, SQL Server, Oracle, XML, HTML5, Angular
  
  JS.
• Experience with Service Now ITSM.
• Experience working with product management tools such as MS Visual Studio Team (TFS) server using Agile (SCRUM).
• Ability to resolve issues and exhibit strong initiative.
• Excellent planning, training, and follow-up skills and analytical abilities.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.

• 8‑hour workdays on a fixed schedule (not a flex schedule), starting no earlier than 7:00 AM Eastern Time, starting no later than 9:00 AM Eastern Time, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week.
• GDOT has not specified a number of days onsite vs remote; however, local candidates (able to come to office) will be preferred over out‑of‑state candidates. GDOT prefers candidates who can demonstrate they have the capability to work a hybrid schedule (remote and in‑office).
• The consultant will follow all applicable State of Georgia and GDOT policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and accepted best practices.
• The position end date is set for the end of the GDOT Fiscal Year. GDOT may exercise the option to renew contracts in one‑year increments.
