Job SummaryThe Digital Intel Analyst Lead will work within the Digital Intelligence Unit providing support to the Uniform Patrol & Criminal Investigations Division. This position will compile information from a variety of sources including cameras, License Plate Readers (LPRs), criminal histories, and open‑source intelligence; compile intelligence reports, case briefings, and conduct threat assessments. The role is responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.
The position typically advises and counsels institute and unit management, faculty, staff, students, and vendors and supervises assigned staff.
- Conduct and log threat assessments/Open Source checks; review intelligence reports taken daily and other resources such as the internet, law‑enforcement databases, financial records, seized documentary evidence, telephone toll/billing records, pen register data, and cellular‑site tracking data.
- Support the Patrol/Investigations Division with video footage; oversee investigators conducting online searches, data retrieval, and online data tracking; provide online support and on‑call data retrieval; investigate, analyze, obtain, compile, and disseminate records and information to assist law‑enforcement personnel with criminal investigations.
- Oversee and conduct investigations for assigned cases and provide assistance for non‑assigned cases; manage the collection of criminal intelligence data for entry into an information storage and retrieval system.
- Monitor social media and create/implement standard operating procedures to manage oversight of reviewing and assessing information.
- Oversee administration of law‑enforcement background checks on department new hires.
- Administer and create intelligence briefings & case updates for dissemination department‑wide; disseminate intelligence information to assist in the prevention and detection of criminal activity.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (Required).
- Assistive Technology Act Programs (ATAP) or National Association for Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment (NABITA) (Other Required).
- Two to three years of job‑related experience (Required).
- Minimum of two years of job‑related experience (Preferred).
- Avigilon (or similar camera system) experience, threat assessment experience, open‑source investigation experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities).
- This is not a supervisory position.
- This position does not have any financial responsibilities.
- This position will not be required to drive.
- This role is not considered a position of trust.
- This position does not require a purchasing card (P‑Card).
- This position will not travel.
- This position does require and maintain a security clearance.
- This position is located in Atlanta, GA.
- Salary range: $73,000 – $74,000 (depending on experience).
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check.
