Job Summary: As the Food Safety Data Scientist on our SRA team, you will play a critical role managing multiple streams of information to ensure compliance, data integrity, and innovation across our portfolio. This position supports technical expertise within cross‑functional collaboration to maintain regulatory alignment and communicate product safety. Supporting SRA advocacy initiatives is the primary responsibility of this role and, where applicable, SRA managers in innovation.
Key Responsibilities 1. Ingredient & Packaging Safety Data Management- Build and maintain repositories for ingredient specifications, safety documentation, and regulatory submissions to ensure accurate and timely responses to technical inquiries.
- Develop structured processes for procuring, mining, modelling, and analysing data specifically related to ingredient safety, packaging compliance, and other regulatory assessments.
- Create tools and workflows that simplify large datasets and enable quicker access and stratification of data. Research ways to collect new data and utilise existing data.
- Collaborate with IT and system managers to ensure SRA platforms — future or existing — are optimised for efficient workflows that meet business/company requirements.
- Employ appropriate technologies to connect systems for seamless data flow supporting compliance reviews, safety assessments, and headwind analysis.
- Create or manage existing records within SRA systems. Support integration of SRA systems, such as Picasso, Sales Force, KOmply, Single Point, Spark , and Paracelsus.
- Apply SOPs and regulatory standards (federal, state, and international) to ingredient and packaging evaluations.
- Support impact assessments through data visualization and external document review, ensuring scientific rigor and regulatory alignment.
- Review, organise, log, and visualise internal and external monitoring activities for compliance tracking.
- Partner with stakeholders to address ingredient and packaging issues, driving timely resolutions.
- Generate compliance reports and maintain accurate records within SRA systems to support regulatory and innovation projects.
- Assist in regulatory meetings, research and analysis projects, and advocacy initiatives as assigned.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to field requests, produce reports, and generate documents to communicate data findings to internal leadership.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and database management, with a proven track record of generating databases and data visualization tools.
- Ability to connect or incorporate internal systems with external APIs.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Products, including but not limited to Power BI, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with food industry regulations and compliance requirements; regulatory experience in the food industry is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with curiosity, inclusivity, and iterative thinking.
- Strong attention to detail and a problem‑solving mindset.
