The RoleThe role of a Director of Specialized Sales - Media and Entertainment Technology involves leading a team of specialized sellers who drive revenue by selling technology solutions (such as Lumen® Vyvx® Broadcast Solutions and Lumen Bare Edge Metal, Cloud Services, and Security Services ) to companies within the media and entertainment (M&E) industry. This is a senior, strategic leadership position that requires a deep understanding of industry-specific needs and emerging technologies.
TheMain Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Mentoring :
Managing, mentoring, and motivating a team of sales professionals, providing coaching on sales strategies, and ensuring the team achieves collective goals. Building and Maintaining a high performing team. - Business Development:
Identifying, building, and managing a robust pipeline of new business opportunities and accounts (often referred to as a "hunter" role). Manage sales funnel to analyze, forecast, and manage pipeline activity and monitor sales activity against assigned quotas. - Strategic Planning:
Developing and executing go-to-market and growth strategies that align technology capabilities with client business goals. - Executive Relationship Management:
Cultivating and supporting strong, long-term relationships with C-suite executives and key decision-makers at client and agency partners. - Complex Deal Negotiation:
Leading and closing high-impact, complex enterprise sales pursuits and negotiating large contracts to achieve and exceed revenue targets. - Industry Expertise:
Acting as a strategic advisor to clients, leveraging deep knowledge of M&E industry trends, competitive dynamics, and relevant technology solutions (such as Lumen® Vyvx® Broadcast Solutions ,Lumen Bare Edge Metal, Cloud Services, and Security Services e.g., CTV, programmatic advertising, cloud services). - Cross-functional Collaboration:
Coordinating with internal product, marketing, finance, and delivery teams to ensure flawless service execution and advocate for customer needs.
- Seven Plus years of direct sales leadership experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding aggressive sales targets, specifically within the M&E or ad tech sectors. Development of high and low performers for Improvements or Enhanced Development.
- Strong business acumen, excellent negotiation and communication skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work in fast-moving, often independent, environments.
- Understanding specific technologies relevant to the sector, such as cloud computing services (AWS, Salesforce M&E solutions), digital platforms), and such as Lumen® Vyvx® Broadcast Solutions and Lumen Bare Edge Metal, Cloud Services, and Security Services) data analytics.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent years of related experience
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

$148,838 - $198,450 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY
$156,282 - $208,373 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
$163,727 - $218,295 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
