SummaryAs a Desktop Cloud Engineer, you will manage, deploy, and maintain Smith + Howard’s end‑user computing environment, concentrating on Microsoft Intune and Windows Auto Pilot. You’ll ensure device provisioning, policy enforcement, software deployment, and endpoint security across the enterprise.
Essential Functions- Design, configure, and manage Microsoft Intune for device management, application deployment, compliance policies, and conditional access.
- Implement and maintain Windows Auto Pilot for zero‑touch provisioning and streamlined onboarding of new devices.
- Patch, remediate vulnerabilities, and optimize Windows Update for Business rings.
- Build and maintain golden images and configuration profiles to standardize device setups.
- Package, test, and deploy applications using Intune Win
32, MSI, and EXE. - Support and maintain Windows 11 endpoints, including patching, updates, and performance optimization.
- Develop and maintain Power Shell scripts and automation tools for endpoint management and reporting.
- Collaborate with IT security to ensure endpoints meet corporate compliance and security requirements (Bit Locker, Defender, encryption, etc.).
- Troubleshoot Intune enrollment, Auto Pilot deployment failures, and general device management issues.
- Integrate Intune, Azure AD, and other Microsoft 365 services.
- Provide Tier 3 support for desktop problems escalated from the service desk and manage Level 3 tickets.
- Maintain knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite of products.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 4+ years of experience as a Desktop Engineer, Endpoint Administrator, or similar role.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Intune and Windows Auto Pilot in production.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 11, Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policy.
- Power Shell scripting experience for automation and configuration management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Endpoint Security solutions (Defender, Conditional Access, etc.).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals related to endpoint connectivity.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Experience working with virtual/remote staff members.
- Microsoft certification such as MD‑102, MS‑101, or AZ‑104.
- Experience with co‑management (Intune + Configuration Manager).
- Knowledge of macOS and mobile device management (MDM) platforms.
- Experience supporting hybrid or global environments.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Initiative and ability to lead projects.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Independent working style within a collaborative IT team.
- Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and automation.
