This role is within the newly created Technical Design & Strategy department, part of Campus Services, and focuses on human‑centered design, user experience, and innovative technology solutions that enhance the campus experience.
Department InformationThe Technical Design & Strategy team leads the development and integration of digital solutions to streamline processes, modernize technology platforms, and ensure secure, reliable access to campus resources. The Director of Technology Design & Strategy provides strategic leadership, shapes project roadmaps, embeds behavioral insights, and leads cross‑functional initiatives from concept through implementation.
Job SummaryPlan, organize, and oversee the information technology support function for a campus unit. Responsibilities include acquiring, installing, and maintaining hardware and software, setting employee goals, building organizational structure, assessing performance, providing feedback, and recommending pay actions.
Responsibilities- Direct unit IT support staff personnel, including staffing, goal formulation, performance assessment, and employee development.
- Formulate unit IT budget and manage related expenditures.
- Oversee ongoing review of unit information needs and develop and implement necessary plans.
- Coordinate and communicate unit IT plans, programs, and activities with OIT.
- Serve as unit representative on campus‑wide information technology advisory groups.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience• 8+ years of relevant experience, including 4+ years of supervisory knowledge.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge
Working knowledge of unit‑level information technology infrastructure, including related software and hardware.
Skills
Strategic planning, budget formulation & management, management of technical professionals, oral and written communication, IT policy development & administration, project management, process engineering, relational database administration, and application of performance metrics.

Other Information- Salary Range: $124,950 to $140,000

Atlanta, GA - This position is a supervisory role and a position of trust.
