We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineering Manager to help lead our Cloud Networking engineering team in our Foundational Infrastructure organization. The Cloud Networking team works to create a scalable and reliable Network layer to support Fan Duel’s large-scale complex network architecture across several dozen deployment locations under unique geographic and regulatory constraints.
You will have established Network Engineer capabilities. You’re excited to learn how to develop and grow Engineers. You’ll be responsible for providing outstanding employee experience tailored to your line report’s individual needs. You’ll be responsible for leading smaller projects or features within a team. - Manage and lead the Cloud Networking team which supports the development of performant and reliable networks across Fan Duel.
- Lead conversations to remove blockers and foster collaboration across teams
- Collaborate with security, Dev Ops, and application teams to ensure reliable connectivity, performance monitoring, and traffic segmentation.
- Collaborate with various cross-functional software engineering teams to enhance and unify our overarching engineering culture.
- Translate overarching strategic goals into actionable and detailed plans that can be readily implemented by engineers.
- Demonstrate technical leadership across the organization.
- Shape and enact standards and baselines for uplifting engineering across Fan Duel.
THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cloud network engineers responsible for designing and operating virtual and hybrid cloud networks.
- Supervise the design and help maintain highly available, secure, and scalable large network architectures across multiple cloud providers (e.g. automated provisioning of network devices, experience with cloud networking technologies such as TGW, GWLB, AWS Network Firewall, Cloud WAN, Direct Connect).
- Oversee implementation of network and Infrastructure a utomation using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation).
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform)
- Drive cost optimization strategies and network observability improvements through tooling and telemetry.
- Manage incident response and root cause analysis for network-related issues across production environments.
