Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Postgre

SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. As a Postgre

SQL DBA, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of our Postgre

SQL database systems. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our database infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and upgrade Postgre

    SQL database software and related tools.
  • Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Monitor and tune database performance to optimize query execution and improve overall system efficiency.
  • Perform database capacity planning and resource management to ensure scalability and high availability.
  • Manage database security, including user access control, authentication, and data encryption.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design, implement, and optimize database schemas and queries.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data corruption, and system failures.
  • Implement and maintain database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including database design, installation procedures, and configuration details.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Postgre

    SQL features, technologies, and best practices.
    • Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Postgre

    SQL DBA, including installation, configuration, and administration of Postgre

    SQL database systems.
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting database issues.
  • Experience with backup and recovery strategies, including point-in-time recovery and disaster recovery.
  • Familiarity with database security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions for Postgre

    SQL (e.g., streaming replication, logical replication, Pgpool-II, Patroni).
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgre

    SQL certification (e.g., Certified Postgre

    SQL Professional).
  • Experience with other database systems such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based database services (e.g., Amazon RDS, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Familiarity with database automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
