Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Workday Security Lead who is eager to grow with Truist and take ownership of Workday Security processes across the Bank. This role is hands‑on and focused on maintaining and enhancing Workday access and security controls that impact every teammate and the bank. The ideal candidate is not a consultant, but a dedicated team member who wants to contribute long‑term and be part of a fast‑paced collaborative environment.

In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all Workday security‑related activities, including remediation of critical issues. The Workday Security Lead works closely with technology teams and HR partners to manage and implement security changes, grant tenant access, and ensure compliance with established business controls and policies. You will analyze project requirements and design security modifications to support business needs while maintaining proper governance and control.

The ideal candidate will have strong, hands‑on experience with Workday security and access management—ideally within a financial institution—and an understanding of broader Workday functional areas. This knowledge will help them effectively collaborate with functional and technical teams across the enterprise. The candidate will need to have experience with Agile processes, since the position will be part of a Scrum team.

A desired skill would be experience with AI or business process automation which will bring long‑term value to the Bank.

This is a full‑time, onsite position (5 days per week) based in Atlanta, GA;
Charlotte, NC;
Raleigh, NC; or Greensboro, NC.

  • Oversee the process of granting access within Workday, maintaining proper approvals and controls.

  • Collaborate with Workday functional and technical teams to ensure seamless integration of security across modules and functions.
  • Participate in audits, control reviews, and risk assessments related to Workday security.
  • Provide guidance and best practices to business partners on Workday security standards and access management.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and six to ten years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience.

  • Ability to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems by applying best practices.
  • Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates and interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.
