Title: Global Data Governance Lead – Data Layer

Location: Atlanta, GA (also open to Boston or London)

Type: Full-time

Team: Data Layer Team (driving BCG’s global data transformation)

This is a strategic and operational leadership role responsible for defining and implementing BCG’s enterprise-wide data governance framework. The focus is on ensuring data integrity, security, accessibility, compliance, and value maximization—especially in support of BCG’s data-driven commercial offerings and GenAI initiatives.

• Define the vision, roadmap, and policies for data governance across BCG.
• Lead the formation of a Data Governance Council.
• Act as a key liaison between IT, legal, analytics, business units, and leadership.

• Define standards for data quality and metadata.
• Deploy tools for profiling, cleansing, and continuous improvement.

Data Security & Access

• Implement role-based access controls (RBAC), encryption, and compliance monitoring.

Enablement & Integration

• Drive adoption of data governance features in BCG’s enterprise data platform.
• Integrate GenAI-specific data policies and responsible usage guardrails.

Value Creation

• Align governance with business goals.
• Track ROI on data assets using KPIs and dashboards.
• Leverage advanced analytics to inform strategy.
• Building enterprise-wide data governance roadmaps.
• Leading global data governance functions (metadata, lineage, MDM, DQ, architecture).
• Balancing regulatory compliance with innovation.
• Championing GenAI readiness and ethical use of data.
• Communicating data strategy and ROI to senior stakeholders.
• Driving cultural transformation around data usage and accountability.

• 10–12+ years in data management, governance, or analytics roles.
• Experience working with consulting data (e.g., benchmarks, case data) on a global scale.
• Familiarity with frameworks like DAMA DMBoK, CDMP, DCAM.
• Hands-on with data governance tools (catalogs, lineage, data quality).
• Understanding of data stack tools like Snowflake, Share Point , structured/unstructured data.
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar.
