Senior ML Scientist, Streaming Fraud and Content Understanding
Join us as a Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Sirius
XM, leading the effort to protect the platform from streaming fraud, unfair royalty payouts, and degraded user experiences. This role focuses on developing ML models to detect anomalous user behavior and building foundational AI systems that deeply understand our content.
As a Senior ML Scientist, you will research and develop large‑scale models that detect streaming fraud while enhancing content understanding. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Content Licensing, and Curation to product ionize systems that mitigate fraud, uphold royalty integrity, and surface high‑quality content to our listeners.
What You’ll Do- Translate business goals into machine‑learning problems across Pandora and Sirius
XM and own the end‑to‑end solution. - Research, design, and build high‑impact ML models to combat streaming fraud at scale.
- Develop content‑understanding models that support downstream listener experiences, royalty processing, and catalog management.
- Create new signals and pipelines for modeling user behavior, consumption patterns, and anomalies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners across Engineering, Product, Content Licensing, and Curation.
- A Ph.D. or M.S. in a quantitative field with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Additional 3+ years of research and development in content understanding and/or fraud detection systems.
- Deep understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning, anomaly detection, and graph‑based techniques.
- Hands‑on experience with large‑language‑models, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, vector stores, and orchestration frameworks.
- Experience with large‑scale data and production ML pipelines (Tensor Flow/PyTorch, Airflow, Spark, AWS/GCP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to advocate solutions to scientists, engineers, and product audiences.
- Self‑motivated, growth‑oriented, and driven to solve challenging problems.
- Legal right to work in the U.S.
Compensation for this position ranges from $130,000 to $217,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional short‑term and long‑term incentives may be available.
