We are seeking a Human Resources Consultant for a global manufacturing organization launching its first U.S. facility. The HR Consultant will build the Human Resources function from the ground up. This role is responsible for establishing all core HR infrastructure, policies, and people processes while supporting rapid growth and ensuring compliance with U.S. employment laws. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with proven experience launching HR operations in a start-up or greenfield environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesHR Infrastructure & Compliance
- Build the full HR function from scratch for U.S. operations.
- Develop and implement the U.S. employee handbook, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Partner with legal and global HR teams to align U.S. practices with corporate standards.
- Design and implement recruiting processes from the ground up.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for manufacturing, engineering, leadership, and support roles.
- Establish onboarding programs and new-hire orientation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters.
- Build a strong, compliant, and inclusive workplace culture aligned with the company’s global values.
- Coach leaders on performance management, discipline, and engagement.
- Set up HRIS, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and record-keeping processes.
- Develop job descriptions, compensation structures, and performance management frameworks.
- Create training and development programs for supervisors and employees.
- Act as a trusted advisor to U.S. leadership and global HR.
- Support organizational design and headcount planning.
- Help scale HR practices as the U.S. operation grows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Proven experience building HR functions from scratch (start-up, greenfield, or new-market launch).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and compliance.
- Experience creating employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
- Hands-on experience with recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, or equivalent certification preferred.
