When you work in Hawaii, in addition to learning about the functional aspects of running a hotel — like the proper way to make a bed or how to best handle luggage — it’s critically important to understand Hawaiian culture and the spirit of ‘ohana, or ‘family.’ When opening the first Andaz property in Hawaii, our team participated in Hawaiian culture training to help us understand what ‘ohana truly means.

The Houseperson – Events is responsible for setting up and breaking down all meeting spaces with tables, chairs, water, etc. This person must have good communication skills as well as the ability to lift moderate weight. This is a fast‑paced position.

Qualifications- Ability to lift heavy items – 20 or more lbs.
- Ability to stand/walk during an 8‑hour shift.
- Willing to work holidays and weekends.
- Great communication skills – verbally and written.
- Previous hotel/event set‑up experience preferred.
