Role OverviewThe Therapy Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive clinical and patient support to Mainstay Medical’s customers and Sales Teams, driving demand, and accelerating the sales process through education, training, post‑implant patient support, and direct participation in clinical cases when required. The position significantly adds value to the sales process, helps develop a highly knowledgeable and loyal customer base, and brings Mainstay Medical’s therapy to market in a timely fashion that meets customers’ and patients’ needs.
PositionResponsibilities
- Drive Demand for Mainstay Products:
- Conduct strategic, evidence‑based product presentations and interactive demonstrations to clinical decision makers and physicians within hospital, ASC, physician practice, and clinical settings, emphasizing measurable clinical outcomes, patient‑reported benefits, and return‑on‑investment metrics.
- Implement targeted awareness campaigns by identifying and engaging key opinion leaders (KOLs) within the territory, recruiting them for training programs that showcase product efficacy.
- Develop customized educational content tailored to the specific clinical challenges and priorities of different stakeholders.
- Create and nurture clinical champions within accounts by providing exceptional support and demonstrating unwavering commitment to patient outcomes.
- Support the Commercial Efforts of the Sales Team:
- Provide ongoing clinical education and comprehensive case support through structured training programs, workshops, and refresher sessions.
- Expand organic growth by collaborating with Therapy Managers, A‑B Managers, and Sales Leaders to identify high‑potential accounts and develop value propositions that address specific pain points.
- Transition to primary account maintenance once implant volumes reach thresholds, supporting continuous service and deepening clinical partnerships.
- Foster cross‑functional relationships with field partners through joint planning, account strategy reviews, and collaboration.
- Provide Clinical Input and Customer Feedback to Field Sales and Marketing Teams:
- Serve as clinical authority during procedures, providing equipment, guidance, and troubleshooting support.
- Serve as primary contact for implanted patients, performing device interrogations, analyzing performance, and offering follow‑up consultations.
- Deliver responsive on‑call support for surgeries, reprogramming, MRI needs, and troubleshooting.
- Implement a multi‑tiered educational approach for physicians, clinicians, and staff, including one‑on‑one training, in‑service education, and seminars.
- Document insights and feedback, communicating findings to product development and marketing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, physical therapy, or related field (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
- Minimum 2+ years of progressive experience developing and nurturing customer relationships and account management.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in hospital environments, especially operating room protocols.
- Hands‑on clinical experience in hospital settings with direct patient care or medical device support functions, familiar with sterile field maintenance, procedural workflows, and post‑operative care protocols.
- Extensive travel within the assigned territory and to regional meetings, conferences, and field training programs (typically 60–80%).

The typical salary for this position includes base pay of $65,000 + variable compensation. The total compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
