Position Overview

The Credentialing Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of the credentialing process for our healthcare providers. This role ensures that our physicians and healthcare professionals meet all necessary requirements and maintain up-to-date credentials and privileges to practice in our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare credentialing, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

This is an in-office work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Credentialing Process Management
    • Initiate and manage the credentialing and re-credentialing process for all healthcare providers.
    • Collect and verify all necessary documentation and information from providers.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Provider File Maintenance
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider files and databases.
    • Track and monitor expiration dates of licenses, certifications, and other credentials.
  • Communication and Coordination
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for credentialing inquiries and issues.
    • Liaise with providers, practice managers, and external agencies to resolve credentialing matters.
    • Coordinate with insurance companies and other third-party payers for provider enrollment.
  • Compliance and Audits
    • Conduct regular audits of credential files to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
    • Prepare for and participate in accreditation surveys and audits.
  • Reporting
    • Generate and maintain credentialing reports and metrics.
    • Provide regular updates to practice management and leadership on the status of credentialing activities.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in credentialing or medical staff services preferred.
  • Knowledge of credentialing standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., NCQA, Joint Commission).
  • Familiarity with electronic credentialing systems and databases.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
