Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Surgery Scheduling Specialist to coordinate essential surgical encounters for our patients. In this role, you will serve as a critical liaison between specialists, primary care physicians, and hospitalists to ensure that every aspect of the surgical journey—from pre-op to post-op—is managed with precision and care.

Location: Atlanta, GA 30305 (Buckhead Area)

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Shift: Day Shift (Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities
  • Surgical Coordination: Schedule patients for surgery based on urgency and clinical standards, ensuring the accurate distinction between inpatient and outpatient encounters.
  • Multidisciplinary Liaison: Manage information flow between medical practitioners and external surgical sites, coordinating the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Patient Navigation: Book pre-operative and post-operative appointments while managing high-volume incoming calls and data queues.
  • Administrative Accuracy: Perform data processing, clinical information gathering, and verification of coverage.
  • Authorizations: Resolve QRM authorizations and navigate independent systems to obtain necessary approvals from outside insurers for specific patient populations.
Top Three Daily Priorities
  • High-Level Customer Service: Answering phones and providing a professional, supportive experience for members and providers.
  • Surgery Booking: Accurately scheduling complex surgical cases according to specialized directives.
  • Appointment Management: Coordinating the full cycle of pre-op and post-op follow-up care.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 1 year of professional Customer Service experience is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: 1+ year of experience working within a Healthcare environment is strongly preferred.

    Skills:

    Proficiency with basic PC applications and the ability to learn complex scheduling/authorization software.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Reliability: Ability to work 100% onsite at our Piedmont Rd NE facility in Atlanta.
