SummaryUnder the direction of the department's Manager/Supervisor, the technical assistant should have current CPR Certification, be organized and detail-oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize using good time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are preferred. The technical assistant should be able to work well independently but also as part of a team. A technical assistant is responsible for assisting a radiologic technologist during the imaging process.
They care for patients by transporting them to procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for imaging procedures. The technical assistant ensures that patients are comfortable and at ease during the imaging process. The technical assistant provides assistance to the radiologic technologist with duties like imaging processing and communicates with other members of the health care team to coordinate patient care.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous laboratory experience preferred
- Must possess the ability to follow laboratory procedures and occasionally function autonomously
- Exposure to Clinical Laboratory procedures, personal computer functions, and laboratory information systems required
- Understanding of Clinical Laboratory test accessioning, specimen collection and processing, and result retrieval and reporting principles
