Description

Do you feel called to serve in a Christian Ministry?

Do you want to serve where you make a difference in the lives of others?

Are you looking for a life-changing work experience?

If so, consider joining us at the Atlanta Mission, where we provide life transforming experiences for everyone that joins our team: employees, clients, donors, and volunteers. We serve over 1000 men, women, and children every day by providing food, shelter, clothing, counseling, vocational and spiritual guidance. We get to experience and witness radical life transformations.

The Mental Health Counselor plays a vital role in advancing Atlanta Mission’s Christ-centered ministry by walking alongside individuals as they pursue emotional healing, stability, and restoration. Through compassionate, ethical, and trauma-informed counseling, this role helps remove emotional and psychological barriers that prevent clients from fully engaging in their personal growth, recovery, and life transformation.

By providing professional mental health services within a multidisciplinary care model, the counselor supports the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—creating space for hope, dignity, and long-term change. This position models Christlike compassion, respect, and humility, offering a steady and trustworthy presence for individuals who have experienced significant trauma, loss, or instability.

The Mental Health Counselor’s work directly contributes to safer communities, stronger families, and sustainable life outcomes by equipping clients with the emotional tools needed to heal, rebuild relationships, and move toward independence and purpose.

The salary range for this role is inclusive of 3 levels of credentials:
Master's Degree earned, Associate License earned, and Full Professional License earned. Please note that we determine a compensable starting rate based on Education, Licensure, and Experience.
