Provides leadership and guidance for the Congenital Cardiac Operating Room and works collaboratively in the Heart Center with the manager, department leaders, and physicians to support the mission and vision of Children’s. Assists the Clinical Operations Manager in all aspects of daily activities and administrative matters as assigned. Acts as a liaison between Intensive care units, surgical services, and other ancillary department leadership.
Experience- 2 years working in an operating room
- 1 year of experience in congenital cardiac
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Associate's degree from accredited academic clinical program
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact or Georgia licensed Respiratory Care Professional or Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) from the Competency and Credentialing Institute

- Manage the ongoing process of healthcare delivery to patients and parents incorporating age related and developmental specific requirements.
- Prepares for abnormal conditions, equipment failures, and emergencies.
- Pursue educational and leadership opportunities to enhance professional growth and clinical expertise.
- Supports Joint Commission readiness.
- Acts as a clinical resource for patient population in the area.
- Maintains competence to provide and/or assist with clinical care.
- Participates in achieving organizational and departmental goals.

- Assists manager with daily operations of the Cardiovascular Operating Room and may act as lead in absence of the manager.
- Assists manager in monitoring staff performance, behavior, and clinical competency.

- Provides educational activities and orientation designed to improve clinical competence.
- Develops and implements effective procedures and processes to ensure optimal delivery of care.
- Mentors team members to encourage personal and professional growth and development.

- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in supporting budget, productivity, and resource utilization.
- Removes or escalates barriers to appropriate leader.
- Collaborates with staff and medical team in identifying clinical issues for investigation and research and incorporates findings into department practice.
- Acts as quality representative by identifying, developing, and managing opportunities for improvement, projects, and special procedures.
- Conducts continuous assessment and improvement of quality of care and services provided.
